Christian Barbiero has worked as an attorney with the firm since 2017. His work is driven by the desire to negotiate and establish collection alternatives for clients without pressure from the IRS, as well as a commitment to improving the emotional and financial lives of the people who turn to the firm for legal help.
His professional philosophy is to approach every case with professionalism and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcome.
Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
Christian describes his approach as deliberate and strategic. When a client signs with the firm, Christian reads the consultation notes thoroughly to understand the initial strategy. If a case requires a major decision, he writes down the possible paths, outcomes, and his reasoning for them rather than rushing the choice.
Christian also emphasizes strong documentation and case awareness.
While in law school, Christian clerked with both the Salt Lake City District Attorney’s Office and the Utah Attorney General’s Office. Those clerkships strengthened his legal research, legal writing, and oral argument skills, which he has since applied to tax law and work involving the Tax Code and Internal Revenue Manual.
He attended the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he participated in the Family Law Clinic, the Mobile Home Park Hot Line Clinic, and the Criminal Law Clinic, and graduated in May 2017.
In his third year of law school, he received the CALI award in Problem Solving and Analysis.
He also graduated cum laude from Weber State University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology.
Christian holds bar licenses to practice law in Utah and Colorado, and also holds a bar license with the United States Tax Court.
Christian has a 100% settlement rate when Innocent Spouse Relief is filed, and he hopes that streak continues into the future.
Outside of work, Christian enjoys running, traveling, watching sports, and attending University of Utah football games. Most importantly, he loves spending time with his wife and family.
Christian says he competed as a sprinter on the Weber State University track and field team for four years.
