Tamara Hamill works with clients who are facing difficult financial circumstances and need experienced guidance to move forward. In her role, she helps clients who are unable to pay their tax obligations pursue settlements or other resolutions with the IRS.
She describes her work as understanding each client’s situation, identifying viable paths forward, and advocating on their behalf in a way that helps restore hope, stability, and confidence.
Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
Tamara’s professional mission is to support clients through difficult financial moments by resolving complex tax issues to restore hope, stability, and confidence.
She also describes a structured, client-centered approach that shapes how she analyzes each client’s financial situation, identifies documentation needs, and develops targeted resolution strategies. She also developed a customized approach to calculate monthly income and expenses, evaluate statute expiration dates and tax-year liabilities, determine realistic settlement targets, and present a client’s financial picture as effectively as possible. She says this approach increased efficiency, reduced errors, and improved outcomes.
What keeps her engaged is not only solving the financial problem itself, but also recognizing the broader impact unresolved debt can have on a person’s life, including medical, family, and emotional stress.
One of the more complex matters Tamara describes involved a multiyear audit covering seven years of tax liabilities. Resolving the matter required extensive research, careful reclassification of expenses, recalculating categories to align with tax rules, and detailed explanations supported by documentation. But the matter sharpened her ability to advise business owners on proper deductions, bookkeeping, and how different business structures can operate in a compliant and tax-efficient way.
Tamara holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and brings experience from similar roles at two other law firms, as well as time spent working in a tax practice during tax season.
Before entering the legal field, she worked in the insurance and financial investment industry and obtained professional insurance and mortgage licenses. That background continues to inform her understanding of investments, real estate, and insurance-related issues affecting clients.
She also has bookkeeping experience and has personally operated and partnered in small businesses for many years, which gives her a practical, well-rounded perspective on client matters.
Tamara has been invited to teach at Chatcolab, a nonprofit leadership conference, where she will present on “Behaviors that Keep You Financially Stuck” and “Behaviors of the Financially Fit.”
She’s taught these classes on a local level and looks forward to sharing that perspective with a broader audience of leaders.
Outside of her tax-practitioner work, Tamara says she enjoys a mix of creative, educational, and community-focused pursuits. She enjoys graphic design and interactive media work, including presentations and custom visuals.
She also develops and refines financial education curricula and interactive presentations, focused on helping individuals understand and overcome behaviors that lead to financial challenges.
In addition, she enjoys crochet, embroidery, painting, and day trips focused on nature photography.
Earlier in her business career, Tamara won a national advertising contest sponsored by Walt Disney Productions to reintroduce the film Robin Hood. The prize was an all-expenses-paid seven-day trip to London. When a Disney representative called to tell her she had won, she told him he was lying, and he replied, “Mickey Mouse never lies,” a line she still remembers as one of her favorite reminders about honesty.
